Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to learn more about Michael I. O’Malley and his background as an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant.

Mike O’Malley has been a lawyer and an Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney for over a decade.  As a  prosecutor He has represented the people of Cook County in the Circuit Courts of Cook County in all of its principal divisions -- Family, Criminal, and Civil Law.
While working in the Public Corruption and Financial Crimes Units of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Michael I. O’Malley led several investigations and prosecutions of individuals who embezzled funds from the taxpayers of Cook County.
Mike's successful crime-fighting work has regularly made the front pages of the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times and the Daily Herald.
This included Mike’s investigation and prosecution of 7 individuals who stole nearly $1,000,000 from the Chicago Public Schools.
O’Malley also spearheaded  the prosecution of two public officials who stole $350,000 from a southwest suburban fire department, resulting in a conviction and 8-year prison sentence for the organizer of the criminal enterprise.
While working in the Criminal Prosecutions Bureau, Mike O’Malley led the investigation into dozens of sexual predators in Cook County, the despicable people who preyed on our children.
Mr. O’Malley also led investigations resulting in the arrest and subsequent conviction of several individuals involved in human sex trafficking.
While working  as a prosecutor in the 6th Municipal District in Markham and the 4th Municipal District in Maywood, Mike O’Malley successfully prosecuted and put behind bars, some of Cook County’s most violent criminals.
Mike has not, by any means, been one of those career government employees.
Unlike many judicial candidates, Mike O’Malley has practical, real world experience in the private sector.
Prior to working for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Mike worked for several large corporations including AON, the Northern Trust Company, and JP Morgan Chase.
Mr. O’Malley has experience working in both individual, and trust and estate tax preparation as well as   in the areas of corporate accounting and financial analysis - all valuable traits that uniquely qualify him to deal with complex civil matters.
Mike O’Malley has lived in Cook County his entire life.
He grew up in the western suburb of Elmwood Park where he attended St. Vincent Ferrer grade school, and Fenwick High School.
Later, he got his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from  Northern Illinois University.  After passing the Illinois Certified Public Accounting Exam he attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois at night,
while working full-time at JP Morgan Chase and Co.
That really tells you something about this man’s character and work ethic.
If that weren’t enough, Michael I. O’Malley has volunteered for several community organizations throughout Cook County, including Immaculate Conception grade school on Chicago’s northwest side, St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood, and St. Pius V Catholic Church in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.
He’s also been a volunteer coach for budding young lawyers on law school trial teams and in judge trial advocacy competitions.

Honestly, while you will see scores of names of judicial hopefuls on the ballot, this March, you will be hard-pressed to find one as eminently well-qualified for the position as Michael I O’Malley.
Please lend him your support on March 20, 2018.
